1.To undertake care duties with service users ensuring that the base values of privacy and dignity are paramount at all times.
2.The Residential Care Officer will receive advice, assistance and guidance from the Management Team at the Unit/Centre.
3.The Residential Care Officer should highlight any identified training needs to
the relevant manager.
4.The Residential Care Officer will be required to undertake training when directed by the Department.
5.The Residential Care Officer will undertake outreach work within the community, enabling service users to access community facilities.
6.To liaise with families, friends, carers and other professionals ensuring the profile and professionalism of the Department is reflected at all times.
7.To highlight to the managers any shortfall in service provision and suggestions as to how to overcome them.
8.To work with service users on identified/planned rehabilitation programmes and keep detailed records of progress.
9.To attend and fully participate in the discussions involved in reviews.
10.The Residential Day Care Officer will be expected to undertake key-worker responsibilities following appropriate training.
11.Duties which may be allocated from time to time which are appropriate to the grade and post and which are not of a substantial ongoing nature to affect the grading of the post.
