| SUMMARY OF KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:- Manage R&D projects, directly and through coordination of project teams, for the development and introduction of global Henrob products. This to take place under the framework of Henrob’s global product development programme and strategy for commonisation of engineering systems. Manage and coordinate the activities of designated R&D project teams* ensuring that their time is applied effectively to the projects to maximise the productivity of the R&D resource. Composed currently of various combinations of approximately 9 engineering personnel based at Henrob Limited. Ensure that good design/development practice and the appropriate level of investigation are applied to all R&D tasks including the application of FMEAs and R&M tools. Assist in the development of R&D project plans; monitor and report progress, including provision of management reports, against agreed plans. Supervise the recording and reporting, in line with company procedures, of project/new product information including GA’s, parts lists, test reports, design reviews, cost records, CE/legislation records, HPI’s and status reports. Provide design engineering and product test/validation guidance. Liaise with suppliers, research organisations and any other external bodies whose products, knowledge or expertise may assist or accelerate progress of the R&D projects. QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING Formal Academic Qualification in Engineering. Educated to at least HNC. CAD training plus 3 years experience. Preparation of FMEAs. GCSE/O-Levels in Maths and English at grades 1/A-B. EXPERIENCE Minimum of 6 years experience in a product design/development role. Minimum of 5 years experience as a project or design/development engineer. Minimum of 3 years experience as a project manager. Design and implementation of product test and validation programmes. Sound knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical engineering and control systems. Manufacturing and machining methods and processes. Knowledge and experience of PLC’s and controls software. Production of technical reports and specifications. Production of project documentation including spreadsheets, gannt charts and cost models.
