| Job Elements: - • Ensuring the mechanical engineering well being of the plant and the promotion of performance improvements projects. • Directing and controlling mechanical engineering functions covering plant based and functional areas including the Steam Turbines. • Directing, controlling and managing mechanical engineering department resources (people, costs, budgets, physical assets and contracts etc) as necessary. This includes preparation, agreement and controlling of section budgets. The ideal candidate will have: - • Mechanical Engineering BSc degree or equivalent. • Substantial knowledge and proven track record of engineering practices, functions and processes involved in the engineering and maintenance of heavy process industry or large rotating machinery to analyse data, identify improvement possibilities, problems, and identify solutions. • Sound mechanical engineering background and the ability to prepare technical specifications for internal and external work, to include preparation of scheme papers for modifications and improvements. • Previous experience at supervisory level, good leadership skills. • Experience in plant development and/or efficiency improvement • High levels of computer literacy are essential.
