Our client is a leading supplier of fresh food and drink who have been experiencing an extended period of growth within the South Wales area. Continued demand has created an opportunity for an experienced professional to manage sales, new product development, pricing and promotional activities necessary to provide full service to key customers and contribute to the achievement of volume, profit and distribution objectives. Some home based work will be required.
Main Duties
Business Strategy - Develop, agree and implement the commercial strategy.
Category Management - Ensure efficient management of the product range utilising all aspects of category management.
Sales Management - Understand all areas of the business that impact upon sales and influence these to deliver forecast requirements and cash profit generation
Communication and relationships - Manage communication and relationships internally and externally to ensure all relevant parties are fully informed on applicable issues.
Service - Interact with relevant internal and external departments, particularly NPD, to ensure awareness of customer requirements, actively identifying methods of improvement.
Margin - Together with NPD manage and be accountable for business margin by product.
Candidate requirements
Graduate calibre or equivalent desirable.
Preferably 2 years experience in FMCG industry, either with a manufacturer or agency side, in an account management position
Knowledge of customer’s retail environment is essential
Knowledge and application of sales policies and procedures
Knowledge and application of the organisations, functional supports and resources
Product, category and customer trading environment knowledge
Building and maintaining customer relationships
Strategic selling and negotiation skills
