| Wanted… A professional DeskTop Publisher Operator to add to a busy department, working for an organisation in Treforest, South Wales. Who are you? You have experience in using Apple Macintosh computer equipment and a dedicated attitude to work It is imperative that the successful candidate has excellent Welsh, written and oral skills and the ability to work quickly and effectively. Must also:- • Have the ability to understand and interpret appropriately the requirements for illustrations in examination papers, ensuring they are clear and comprehensible • Have a flexible approach to work, willing to take on a range of tasks and to adopt the working methods of the Print Unit • Have the ability to take initiative and to be creative in interpreting requirements • Have the ability to work well as part of a team Your responsibilities will include… • Using skills working in QuarkXpress to set up examination papers in English, Welsh and • Modern Languages – mostly from handwritten proofs • Using a range of computer software, such as Mathstype, Encore etc. • Using Macview and Adobe Photoshop to scan • Using Macview, Freehand and Photoshop to make minor amendments to artwork • Importing images, artwork, maps, graphs and texts • Converting disc work from Word and other packages to QuarkXpress • Using own initiative as to which printer the final copy of all work is printed on for required quality • Liaise with other departments within the organisation • Any other duties appropriate to the post as required by the Print Manager • Ensuring that strict confidentiality is observed Reward £15,471 - £16,218 plus 25 days holiday per annum (In addition, the organisation currently allows 16 statutory/additional holidays) |
