| Job Elements • Reporting to the Technical Manager you will assist in all aspects of the design / development and product introduction. • To aid in the detailed engineering from prototype to production. • To support production in all aspects of manufacturing. • To design jigs and fixtures Mechanical and Electrical. • Work with marketing to support product introduction. • Responsible for maintaining project documentation also risk analysis FMEA Technical files and facilitating appropriate hand-over to production. • Liaise with vendors on products and tooling. • Responsible for maintaining awareness of, and managing compliance with, relevant standards. Skills Experience: • HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline minimum qualification. • Must have previous experience within a mechanical design Engineering environment and ideally a good knowledge of electrical hardware. • Some previous knowledge of electrical engineering / electronics highly advantageous, mechanical lifting equipment, home furnishing (chairs) or bedding a distinct advantage. • FEA stress analysis experience. • Proven engineering and development skills, with a demonstrable track record of managing multiple projects. • Hands-on knowledge of 3D CAD Design with any 3 D package, mechanical devices and workshop equipment.
