Job Elements: -
• Manage a range of assigned contract management categories.
• Deliver through competitive tendering and negotiation a price reduction for each category area assigned.
• Lead the negotiation with suppliers to delivery best value for money.
• Deliver results against pre determined procurement performance measures set within each assigned category.
• Develop a purchasing strategy for each spend category, market forces, cost drivers etc.
• Reduce waste, duplication and cost within the supply chain, promote standardisation and rationalisation of materials, products and suppliers.
• Develop new sources of supply for each category area applying best practice techniques.
• Ensure all Agreements and Purchase Orders are signed off against the appropriate pre determined spend authority levels.
• Support other team members to ensure critical department KPI’s is delivered on time.
• Undertake special projects related to any aspect of the procurement function.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Full Membership - Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply or studying.
• Minimum of 3 years procurement or related field.
• Skilled negotiator both internal and external.
• Knowledge of contract law.
• Deliver a high level of technical / professional work on time to budget.
• Organised individual.
• Good entrepreneurial instinct and negotiating skills.
• Good numeracy and analytical skills.
• Good inter-personal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient user of Microsoft office applications and or other.
