Reporting to the Purchasing Manager our Automotive clients are looking to recruit a Buyer for indirect materials. The Automotive Systems Division of our client covers the full range of systems and with uncompromising attention to quality, specialises in the development of innovative technologies for vehicle safety applications, comfort and powertrain as well as in the networking of active and passive driving safety systems.
Job Purpose
· To develop and implement specific sourcing strategies across the range of indirect materials, services and investment programs required by the SE Wales Site.
· The objective is to deliver a supply base capable of supporting the effective and efficient operation of the business through benchmark performance in terms of delivery, optimum cost, quality, service levels and added value.

Candidate Requirements:
· Typically 3-5 years in a strategic purchasing role or significant experience within a related function,
· preferably within the automotive sector.
· Experience of multi-functional team initiatives and commercial negotiation capability at senior management level is a requirement.
· European/international exposure in a commercial/technical role within a manufacturing organisation would be a distinct advantage.
· Ideally educated to diploma/first degree level in either a commercial, engineering or technical discipline.
· To have, or be in the process of acquiring, a post graduate/professional purchasing qualification through an accredited organisation.
· European language would be an advantage.
· Ability to operate/navigate applicable SAP modules.
· Outline knowledge of commercial/contract law and European legislation relating to companies operating within the EEC would be of benefit in this role.
