Job Elements: -
• Responsible for the management of the logistics function.
• Coordinates, directs and manages the day to day activities required for the conciling of all customer requirements and distribution of raw materials and supplies utilized in the manufacturing process, including material & inventory control activities and management of all shipping and receiving.
• Assists in the optimisation of inventory levels to ensure product availability and minimization of inventory turns and costs, storage of inventory materials, and direction of personnel assigned to logistics & materials used in manufacturing process.
• Coaches all logistics activities focusing on total customer satisfaction, quality and team work across all supporting functions.
• The manager is the driving force and catalyst for creating an environment of continuous improvement implementing cross functional and cross shift teams.
The ideal candidate will have:
• University degree highly desirable.
• Materials Management, Purchasing or Inventory Control qualifications would be good.
• Previous supervisory experience in a high volume manufacturing environment (preferred automotive).
• Previous Materials, Inventory Control or Purchasing experience.
• MRP systems and Kanban systems.
• Continuous improvement within lean manufacturing.
