| As a rapidly expanding Defence Business my client currently has a vacancy for a Financial Accountant. Experience Candidate must have previous experience in a similar role Use of SAP essential, SAGE desirable The job holder/candidate must have worked in all main areas of Financial Accounting Broad working knowledge of business systems and processes of multi-national businesses and the scope of large mainframe systems. Key Responsibilities Accuracy and validity of Financial Information in SAP Ensure all accounting sub-ledgers are up-to-date and accurate. Ensure the information contained in SAP is up to date enabling management to view the Balance Sheet status of the business at any point in time. All aspects of Financial Accounting & Management Accounting are performed in a timely manner Process improvement Help to ensure all processes held within the domain of the Financial Accounting Department (FAS) maintain internal control and minimise the risk of fraud and error. Seek continuous improvement in all processes under the control of the role. Daily accounting Ensure the daily accounting routine both inside and outside of SAP is maintained. The role will also involve the preparation of VAT returns, Statutory accounts and Intrastat reconciliation. Month end reporting Perform multiple accounting duties to ensure monthly reporting requirements are fulfilled within stipulated guidelines whilst focusing on ensuring that the quality and accuracy of information provided is always maintained. Prepare all necessary journals, balance sheet control accounts, and management reports. Qualifications Must be ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified |
