Required as soon as possible, a School HR Advisor to cover whilst the current member of staff is on secondment. The contract will be for at least 5 months, with a strong possibility of extending significantly beyond this time. The role is part-time, covering 2 to 3 days per week between 9am and 5pm.
The successful candidate will be a strong HR specialist with good knowledge of personnel issues. Experience working within a school setting is ideal though not essential.
The main job purpose is to contribute to the achievement of the Mission and strategic objectives of the college by assisting the Principal in the professional leadership and management of the College especially in areas directly related to Human Resources.
The successful candidate will be required to:
§ Work with the Principal in ensuring that the principle of “putting the learner first” is adhered to within all human resource decision making.
§ Support the Principal in developing positive working relationships with and between all staff and provide and sustain motivation.
§ Advise the senior management team on all human resource and personnel related matters.
§ Carry out any such role, reasonably incidental to these functions as the Principal may reasonably decide.
§ Seek expert external advice where it is expedient to do so.
§ Ensure efficient and effective human and where appropriate other resource allocation within the college.
§ Support the Principal in the appointment, deployment and development of staff and to take responsibility for appointment processes and procedures.
Lead the development of the human resources components of the Strategic Development Plan and operational plan as appropriate
