| ELECTRONICS / COMMUNICATIONS ENGINEER - Up to £35,000 per annum The Company Our client is a market leader in the design and manufacture of position sensors and controls.With ISO9001 accreditation, they are committed to world class manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement. They are seeking to recruit the following role to work in their busy engineering department based at Cwmfelinfach, near Newport in Gwent. The Role: To primarily support the development of electronics interfaces for the joystick and sensor products and support customer applications of these solutions. The successful applicant will be responsible for the development of bespoke electronics solutions for specific customer applications as well as generic solutions suitable to be used across a range of products. Projects will range from a few days for product modifications through to several months for major development work, taking in all aspects of product development from generation of specifications to qualifications testing. The immediate requirement for this role will also involve the development of CAN (and potentially other communications bus) solutions for use in industrial and niche automotive applications The Candidate: Applicants should possess the following technical skills: ·A Degree level qualification in Electronics Engineering or equivalent. ·Thorough knowledge and experience in hardware design from circuit design to final product ·Thorough knowledge and experience in the field of embedded electronics and programming at a microcontroller level ·Experience in the specification and application of bus communications protocols. A detailed knowledge and application of CAN bus systems would be preferred but knowledge of other bus systems would be an advantage ·An understanding of EMC and ESD protection techniques will be essential ·The ability to troubleshoot existing designs ·A working knowledge of other software tools such as LabView, C++ or Visual Basic would also be a clear advantage ·A working knowledge of statistical evaluation and experience in conducting capability studies and statistical assessments of test data ·The ability to write clear and unambiguous test reports and supporting documentation.
