| JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Facilities Manager and Caretaker Location: Cardiff City Centre Salary: £16,000 Our client are looking for a Caretaker to provide support to all users of their head office and undertake a broad range of tasks in terms of general maintenance and facilities. The job holder is required to provide ad hoc support and cover for other areas of the business from time to time including Logistics Maintenance and Chief Exec Chauffeur. Responsibilities/ Objectives: 1. To ensure site is maintained in a safe, clean and tidy condition at all times 2. To maintain the site grounds in a clean and tidy state at all times, including off-site car park 3. To ensure basement area is kept clear of rubbish and surplus equipment 4. To carry out minor repair work as required 5. To co-ordinate departmental moves and office layouts in conjunction with the Regional Building Surveyor. Weekend working and weekday evening work will be required. 6. To carry out weekly test of emergency lighting, fire alarm etc 7. To undertake planned preventive maintenance tasks (e.g. air conditioning filter cleans, water tests etc.) as directed by the Maintenance Department Managers 8. To source and procure janitorial supplies, having regard to budget constraints 9. To oversee the operation of contract cleaning within the building. Ensure work is carried out to the required standard. 10. To source and procure removal and disposal of recyclable waste and destruction of confidential or sensitive waste paper 11. To ensure all lighting within the building is operating effectively at all times 12. To provide maintenance cover (e.g. during holiday and sickness periods) for other non retail sites 13. To provide ad hoc support and cover for the Chief Executives Chauffeur Education / Training (Type / Degree) O’level/GCSE standard education or equivalent Experience (Field) Previous Facilities Management or Maintenance Handyman experience Skills / Knowledge Excellent organisation and planning skills Good communication skills Self motivated Flexible |
