Job Description

  • The prime responsibility is the day-to-day management of the warehouse and logistics personnel to ensure that collectively they meet our customer requirements on time and to the quality standards set by the company.
  • The manager will be responsible for the allocation of the resources within the warehouse and logistics department, for determining overtime, leave and rota requirements and for generally ensuring that sufficient people are available to manage the workload at any given time.
  • The manager will be responsible for the recruitment, support and development of department staff
  • Responsible for highlighting low stock situations.
  • Implement and maintain a strict housekeeping plan to protect the stock and meet health and safety requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective stock control and audit systems to ensure levels and accuracy are maintained to meet the needs of the business.
  • Accountable for the accurate recording of goods in and out.
  • Negotiate contracts with carriers to secure the most commercially favourable rates for the company and monitor the performance of the carrier to ensure that they are meeting the service needs of the business.
  • Control the logistics budget, sign off warehouse and logistics invoices to ensure that cost efficiency is maintained.
  • The individual will need to proactively manage the suppliers to ensure a quality service is provided in line with the requirements of the company. The manager will need to highlight any supplier performance issues to procurement.

What the company is looking for in the successful candidate:

  • Computer literacy with regard to permanent inventory systems.
  • Experience in developing and introducing warehousing and logistics procedures.
  • A good understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • The individual will have to demonstrate that they can cope with an environment of change.
  • The individual will hold a valid passport and driving license and be willing to travel throughout Europe
