Job Description

• Responsible for the research, design and implementation of new hardware and software solutions, for the testing of research and production versions of new developments.
• Maintenance and upgrading of existing test systems.
• Designing new concept electronic products.
• Liaising with university and research bodies to help decide new product and development roadmaps.
• Integration of existing test equipment using interface cards - GPIB and RS232.
• Development of new test facilities and test strategies from concept to commissioning - hardware and software.
• Design, build and test of prototypes for proof of concept.
• Providing software and electronic technical support to all departments.

The ideal candidate will have: -

• Ideally degree level education
• Experience within electronic product design and development
• Electronic circuit design knowledge (Orcad)
• Working knowledge of embedded C++ programming (ideally PICC compiler)
• Experienced in writing Window’s based applications (VB6 and SQL Server 2005).
• LabVIEW experience of rewriting existing test software and creating new applications.
• Fully acquainted with all Microsoft Office components including Microsoft Project.
