Job Description
- It is a hands on role and you will head up the day to day financial activities for the company, including; financial strategy, analysis of the books, reporting back to management on the state of the company`s finances, cash flow, producing accounts, setting and checking targets, monitoring the costs of each department, auditing and overseeing all tax and regulatory/compliance issues.
- Providing timely monthly management accounts
- Analysing post sale customer profitability
- Leading the budget and forecasting process and contributing to the strategic planning and development of the business
- Conducting trend and cost analysis
- Reviewing margins and taking corrective action
- Managing the working capital and cash position of the business
- Managing the statutory reporting and external audit process annually
- To ensure the finance team are well managed and that a positive team culture is created and maintained
- Develop systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company`s finances.
- Using a financial control framework, including financial accountabilities and authorities to ensure full financial control.
- Act as the main point of contact to external auditors and provide all required information.
- Ensure accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards and that group policies are followed.
- Recommend changes that will improve the company`s financial performance and financial controls.
The ideal candidate will have:
- The ability to confidently liaise with all departments and individual at all levels from CEO downwards.
- Fully qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Previous experience in a similar position.
- Experience of managing staff within the Accounts department.
- Excellent Excel modelling skills.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work independently, methodically and thoroughly.
- Knowledge of bid reviews, overseas transactions, post acquisition analysis and experience of improving MI reporting would be advantageous.
- Experience within the manufacturing environment are essential.
