Job Description
- Responsible for ensuring that effective safeguarding policies and procedures in relation to the protection of children and vulnerable adults are implemented, promoted and managed effectively across the Group
- Devise a strategy for volunteer recruitment across all areas of the business, to include the alignment and maximisation of funding opportunities to deliver the strategy.
- Link in with external bodies for resource, guidance and support as required across all areas of volunteer recruitment.
- Continually update the current policies and procedures working with the NSPCC to ensure full compliance with the current legal framework.
- Manage the safeguarding case decision making framework and case management referral framework.
- Carry out investigations as required and present findings to the case management panel.
- Work directly with the clubs to promote awareness and develop relationships with key representatives, parents and volunteers.
- Secure accreditation of the NSPCC Safeguarding framework.
- Develop a pool of safeguarding tutors across Wales to provide training and co-ordinate all safeguarding training as required.
- Ensure all appropriate data is held according to current Data Protection legislation and sensitive information is dealt with confidentially.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Should have an understanding and experience first-hand of volunteer identification, recruitment and retention.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working within a safeguarding position.
- Detailed understanding of relevant safeguarding best practise, policies and legislation
- Should have an understanding of governmental and non-governmental bodies involved in Child Protection and how they function and understand the need to work with local statutory agencies as required.
- Educated to degree level desirable
- Full UK driving licence essential
- Candidates will be subject to enhanced CRB checks and other safeguarding checks including reference checks.
